The exercise:
We will measure the length of Bainbridge Island with different settings on dividers, and on different scale maps.

• Groups of two:
  • one divider mover and
  • one counter...
• Set the dividers at 1 mile (from bar scale on 1:62,500 map) count the number of miles around the Island.
• Continue with .5 mile, .2 mile and .1 mile if you can.

We will plot the results on the board.

We should access some digital versions of BI and see what the lengths are given as (for an exercise?)
